The members of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy elect Dr. Leonor Arenillas as a new member of the organization.

At the same time, the head of the Haematological Cytology section of the Pathology Service of the Hospital del Mar and researcher at the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute, is secretary of the board of directors of the Spanish Group for Haematological Cytology and also holds the same position in the Spanish Group of Myelodysplastic Syndromes.

Dr. Leonor Arenillas, head of the Haematological Cytology section of the Pathology Service of the Hospital del Mar, which is part of the biomedical diagnosis and imaging network, dibi, and researcher in the Translational Research Group on Hematological Neoplasms of the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute, has been elected as a new member of the Spanish Society of Hematology and Hemotherapy (SEHH), at the LXIV congress held in Barcelona between October 6 and 8. Dr. Arenillas was the candidate who received the most votes and will hold the position for the next four years.

This position is in addition to those she also holds in the Spanish Group of Hematological Cytology (GECH) and the Spanish Group of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (GESMD). In both, she is the secretary of the board of directors. In the case of GECH, she also coordinates the main project of the group, the Atlas de Citología Hematológica, since 2012. And in GESMD, she had previously been a member, since 2020.
