The IMIM hosts the meeting of the Laboratory Committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)

Toni Pascual re-elected by the WADA as a member of the Health, Medical & Research Committee and president of the Laboratory Committee

Last November Toni Pascual, deputy director of the IMIM Anti-Doping Control Laboratory (of the Hospital del Mar Research Institute) and researcher of the Bioanalysis and Analytical Services Research Group for the Neuropsychopharmacology Programme, was re-elected by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) as a member of the Health, Medical & Research Committee for three more years and as president of the Laboratory Committee for one more year.

In connection with this, the meeting of the WADA Lab Committee, chaired by Toni Pascual, took place in the IMIM on the 9th and 10th December past. This committee is made up of an international group of experts on doping and is the advisory body in charge of all aspects related to the work carried out by anti-doping control laboratories on a global scale, from regulations which must be complied with (international standards), to their accreditation, assessment of their results, implementation of new methodologies, among others.
