Doctors Jenniffer Linares and Joana Vidal receive grants from the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology

They have received three of the 61 grants awarded by SEOM as part of its annual congress held in Madrid.

The Sociedad Española de Oncología Médica has awarded 61 grants to medical oncologists, three of them to professionals from Hospital del Mar and its research institute. This is the highest number of grants in its history, with a total allocation of nearly 1.3 million euros. The awards were presented at the society's congress, held from October 15 to 18 in Madrid.

The grants have been awarded to Dr. Joana Vidal, a consultant in the Medical Oncology Service, who received one of the SEOM Foundation awards for doctoral theses for young researchers. The other two are for Dr. Jenniffer Linares from the Colorectal Cancer Precision Medicine Research Group at the Hospital del Mar Research Institute. One is a SEOM award for doctoral theses for young researchers, and the other is a SEOM grant for research projects, awarded by SEOM and SWISS RE. This grant is for the project "Clinical Impact of Secreted Factors by CAFs in RAS Wild-Type Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients Treated within the CR-SEQUENCE Clinical Trial."

The SEOM grants program aims to promote clinical and translational research, foster training in leading centers, and create a knowledge network among medical oncologists in Spain. All the awarded projects have been externally evaluated by the Carlos III Health Institute.
